Carbon Canyon is located in the City of Brea and in the City of Chino Hills. The north end of Carbon Canyon is in the City of Chino Hills and the south end is in the City of Brea. Carbon Canyon is approximately 10 miles in length, with the line between Brea and Chino Hills in the middle of the canyon. Access to Carbon Canyon is off the 57 Freeway and Lambert Rd at the south end and Chino Hills Parkway at the north end. The City of Brea is nestled in the foothills of North Orange County and is home to over 40,000 residents. Ranked 8th Best Place to Live, Chino Hills is well known for its high quality of life and beautiful rural atmosphere. Chino Hills has a growing population of 78,957, boasts 3,000 acres of publicly-owned open space, 40 parks, 38 miles of trails, and five community buildings. Four Chino Hills elementary schools have scored above 900 in API for 2007. Five Chino Hills elem. schools and both middle schools have scored above 800 in API for 2007.
